The town hall was built in 1889 and has since been used as an apartment building, electrical repair shop, and even as a laundromat. In 1999 it was purchased by the Village of Etna and turned into their town hall. It has its original bell, which can be rung to call the meeting to start or finish. Town hall is at 1 North Main Street in Etna (across from where I went to high school).
The bell that hangs in the station is a beautiful piece of history. The bell was donated by a local businessman, Mr. Elmer “Penny” Miller, in 1919 and is still rung today during fire drills and when the department responds to a fire call. The bell announces to everyone in town that there’s an emergency going on, alerting them so they can get out of harm’s way.
Etna has two small parks. The larger one is located on the south side of Etna, and it features a pond with a small bridge that crosses over it. The smaller park is located on the north side of town and only has a baseball diamond in it.
